For your IT colleague: here's how the widget works under the hood
There's no marketing on this page. Only the facts your technical colleague asks about before anything goes on the site.
- Installation
- One script tag just before
</body>:<script src="https://aqivo.chat/embed.js" data-bot-id="…" async></script>. No npm package or iframe is needed, and nothing else about the site changes. - Insulation
- The widget renders inside a shadow DOM. Your CSS doesn't leak into the widget and the widget styling doesn't leak out onto the site. The widget's own custom CSS stays within the shadow root.
- Loading & performance
- The script loads with
asyncand doesn't block page rendering. It's vanilla JavaScript with no dependencies, so no third-party framework or tracker comes along. - Platform
- Works on any CMS or framework: Umbraco, WordPress, Shopify or something homemade. The widget makes no demands on the host page.
- Data & AI processing
- The assistant only answers based on the content you connect yourselves (website, sitemap, API, files). AI answers run through the business APIs of OpenAI or Anthropic, and they don't use this data to train their models. You read back conversations in the portal, and you can update or remove data sources at any time.
- Management
- You manage configuration (tone, house rules, sources, channels, branding) in the portal. Your site doesn't need to be redeployed for that. Subscriptions can be canceled monthly.
